Happy Birthday Stef!

Stef (great legs!) had a bday today and threw a party. There were lots of nice people there and it was ace to see Alfie (Stef and Jons dog who sometimes came to stay with us) Nice relief from otherwise a bit of a grim weekend. But, hey, onwards and upwards.

Nottingum

Front went to Nottingham last night en masse to prop the mag. Here's Abi (Fashion Intern) the morning after. Very good laugh.

Workie Chris

Actually he does have long blonde hair. Looking forward to the end of this week from hell. Glad to read that Taz is barking at strangers down on Perous Farm http://www.perouinc.com/diary/?date=2006-09-27. Still miss him really bad though.

Changes

All change for me again at the moment. But at least I know this place will always be there.

The Seaside Town They Forgot To Close Down

Today I took my (recent hip replacement) and Gramps (just really old) to Hornsea. We had huge fish and chips and walked (on sticks) along the front.

Good Morning Spider

Back up North. Nice and calm here. Posting from Mums new PC which I sorted out with broadband today. Gramps is totally staggered by his first encounter with the internet. For him it's as if an interstellar hyperdrive warp speed spaceship from Zorg has landed in his back garden. Mark Linkous from Sparklehorse was interviewed on the radio on the way up. He said he could smell the grass growing at his place in North Carolina. I like the countryside again now.

Fashion!

Spent the day taking pictures of people wearing scarves. Winter is coming.....

Jolly J

Jolly kindly put me up last night. Here he is in his legendary kitchen. Previously I went to Kevin Westenbergs (http://www.kevinwestenberg.com) private view at Blink gallery (http://www.blinkgallery.com) with Jon. Some great pics up there that Kevin took back in the NME days. The exhibition is on for a month or so so check it out. Good to see Kevin

Work,work,work

Today was a very boring but very stressed out work day. Work=cheque=more work. Got to break the cycle. I have been doing this for far too long.

Happier Times

Christmas a couple of years ago. Spent this evening scanning some (older) pictures.

Salty Dogs

Drove down to Kent again to see Taz at the Perou Farm. Hope they are not sick of the sight of me. Took the dogs to the nearby Mimms Bay. Amazing beach and great 1950's seaside vibes. Here's Stratfod eating a bit of what used to be a boat. Back at Perous we discovered a dead rat covered in maggots in the garden. I did take a picture but was too grossed out to notice my camera was on manual focus. Twat. Then we put it in a bag and gave it a sky burial on the bonfire. 2 and a half hours to get home. They look like they are all really settling in down there which is great to see. Spooks is giving me the fear on the Telly tonight.

World Wide Intraweb Thingy

Spent all day Saturday using iweb to try and put together a site. It's not that easy but it's also not difficult enough to make me give up halfway through. Watch this space. Should be up soon.

Lost In Music

This man was dancing all by himself all night the other night. I now have a loud voice inside my head telling me to stay in and stop going out every night.

Dixie Splits

Collette (Front's "celebrity booker") does the splits outside Dixies. She is very mental. And not in a good way. She's stalking Joe the Sub.

Happy Birthday To Me

After Tuesdays chaos at the Social had a civilised (sort of) birthday. Ilisa in NYC so (left to right) Perou, Titlow and Jolly came over and took me out. Upstairs at the Electric till the wee small hours.

Sorry

For the delay in posting. My camera charger went missing. Can you guess who this is?

Fly To Live

Live to fly. This bloke runs a haulage firm but his heart belongs to Iron Maiden. A day spent sorting out draws and cupboards. Don't want to leave any "charmed objects" behind.

Bizarre Invitation

Joe (who sits next to me) recieved a message today from a secret admirer. Although he was a little freaked out by the manner of the invitations delivery. He's gone to Wales for the weekend and may not return. Wonder who the culprit was?

Nuns On The Run

These two ladies stopped me today and asked for directions. They must have been in a bit of a hurry 'cos off they scuttled to save some souls. They were very nice and told me that god loves me, which is quite a nice thing to hear at 9 in the morning in Stockwell with a bit of a hangover. Whatever I might actually believe in.

Carl Fogarty

Train up to Blackburn in Lancashire to interview Carl Fogarty. He's won more World Superbike races than anyone else alive (or dead). A bone fide World Champion who is mellowing slightly now in his retirement. He won at Assen while riding with two broken wrists. Total fucking headbanger and a very nice man who made us coffee and welcomed us into his house. I have never seen anyone handle a motorcycle with such grace and precision. That's this kid Ben Rayner (http://www.benrayner.com) who I got to take some pics. Good kid and a fun day. We spent the (3 hour) journey back to Euston discussing the outer reaches of Heavy Metal.

Welsh John And The Pattie Lady

Johns other band Attack Switch Attack played down south of the river last night. Here he is drumming away. After we went for Patties on Electric Avenue. Very tasty. In fact I've just been to Tesco Metro and bought a couple more.

Sarah In The Area

Biancas mate Sarah came over tonight. She's moving to LA with her mum. Too bad. She's a cool kid.

Carry On Campion

Here's Chris Campion helping to clear up after last night. He came down with us and we gave him a lift back. At lunchtime we were all sitting outside the kitchen and we thought we saw a UFO. Is it becacuse we were on a farm in the middle of the country and UFO's are only ever seen by farmers in the middle of nowhere and never appear above the masses on Oxford Street or Times Square? It was weird though. Although it might have been something to do with what we were up to the night before......

Housewarming

Back to Kent for Perou's housewarming. A Jazz band played then we had a bonfire and rounded the evening off by having a swim and pretending we were in Ibiza. Great times. I was very happy to see Taz happy and comfortable down there.

Terrorist Items

Today on my way to work I was stopped at Kings Cross by a couple of very nice Cops and their very friendly Springer Spaniel bomb dog. They told me that it would be very difficult to stop a suicide bomber when they were actually carrying out an attack so instead they are looking for suspicious types who might be on a recon mission for a possible attack. I fitted the profile as I was carrying 2 camera bags at the time. One of the Cops used to work for Max Power Magazine so we know some of the same people. After searching me and the dog drooling all over my Leica they give you this bit of paper and apologise for violating your human rights. A hard job for them under difficult circumstances. A reminder, I suppose, that there is still a war on and Kings Cross at 9.30 am is actually on the frontline.

John Surtees

The legend. I don't suppose anyone will ever be able to emulate his World Championships on both 2 and 4 wheels. A very nice man whom I met at Silverstone yesterday at the A1 Championship testing day. That's Robbie Kerr in the Team UK car flashing by.
