Odd day. Our managing editor Richrad Sutcliffe left today and we went to see one of the bands he looks after play. Then on the Hammersmith And City Line on the way home I saw the end of a relationship. Upsetting.

Angel Of Old Street

Went to see The Horrors again. This time at the Old Blue Last. How old am I?

Home Alone

Ilisa is camping in the rain and Bianca has taken Taz to Yorkshire. Here they are at Kings Cross. At least there should be some fucking ice cream left in the fridge tonight.

Parklife

This is dogshit park. It's where Taz goes to do his buiness inbetween proper walks. Last night I had a bit of hassle in there with this kid who accused me of kicking his Staff. I didn't, of course, I just told it to fuck off. But he was cool in the end. He didn't try and kill me and it ended up with us "respecting" each other because his dog was called Murkle and I knew that Jammer's recent track was called Murkle Man even though I am a thirty something whitey. Am I becoming more street? I have certainly been listening to alot of grime recently. Ya get me?

Blackout

tonight on Oxford Street. The Social was lit by candlelight and had no music. Strangely peacefull and calm in there with Paul and Sam Jones. Then went up to the Dennis Publishing local at random and ran into old collegues from Maxim and Bizarre. Lack of electricity didn't seem to hold up anything at a party at the Sanderson I passed on the way home though.

It's The End Of The World As We Know It

Today we visited the Kelvedon Hatch Nuclear bunker in Essex. It's where central goverment would have headed if the Russians had ever launched a nuclear attack on the UK. If you are old enough to remember the cold war it's worth a visit. Came away with a sense of strange '80's nostalgia and a bit of dread.

The Racoons

Jamie James has invented this new skate crew. They are the offspring of Finsbury Parks asylum seeker residents. He's always up to something that Jamie. I felt like a noncey Larry Clark taking this photo.

Kernow

Back from a few days in Cornwall. Didn't catch any fish (are there any Sea Bass left in the sea? or have they all been roasted and served on a bed of shreded greens?) and drove this XC90 up and down some hills. Check out the ancient noble Cornish fisherman who now takes people seal watching from St Ives because the fishing is so bad.

Higher Powers

Do BMW know something we don't? Ever wondered who / what your higher power would be if you did the 12 steps? Allah? Batman? The Dog? AC DC live?

How Hot?

This was the outside hotness according to the car at lunchtime om the Marlyebone road. Ouch.

Cafe Sintra

Hottest day of the year. Hung out at Sintra in Stockwell (the best bar/cafe/restaurant in London) because of the icy air con and frozen ice tea. The two conerstones of civilisation that nowhere else in London can seem to manage to provide.

Impulse!

Monthly Jazz club at The Social with DJ's James and James. Not a great turn out really but great to see the two dark lords of indie.

2 Offices

Here's Garms Fronts fashion editor and the mythical beast below has a perch in the Vice office. It has been known to come alive at night when people are working late and swoop down on unsuspecting Hoxtonites.

Kite Tonight

Nothing boring work day. Took the dog to Scrubs where people were flying kites.

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

North Of Ping Pong

Taken the other day for Front. They're main interests are drink, drugs, avoiding their girlfriends and making music. Sounds a bit like, er, Skunk Rock! well if the Klaxons have brought rave back why not? Took Taz to Scrubs tonight and people were flying their model aircraft as the sun went down. I didn't have my camera. Stupid.

Osteria Bassilico

The restaurant next door. Evan the boss celebrating Italys win tonight. Every scooter in London is driving up and down Kensington Park Road blaring their horns.

Busy day despite the empty trains. Cover shoot with Steve Neaves and Anna Taverna. Then to Vice to discuss tommorows adventures. Then pizza at Ripe Tomato around the corner then cocktails (ilisa) and Diet Cokes (me).

Some Band

Called Alfa8 or something Paul Moody and I went to see tonight. They were aiming for Storm In Heaven era Verve but actually sounded a bit like Diesel Park West.

My Grandma!

what big teeth you've got. The dog can't handle the heat and is passed out most of the time at the moment. Kit and Lesley (my Aunt and Uncle) came over for dinner tonight at Osteria.

Peepshow

Blokes photographed today. Death and fire please rain upon the person whole stole my motorcycle today. Might as well just give 3 grand to the next little hoodie I see on the street rather than getting another one. It'd cut out the middle man.

Everythings Gone Green

Went up to Yorkshire to see Gramps again. I bought the Bay Tree in the middle a year ago and it had only 2 leaves. Look at it now. My Dads gardener must be using sacrifical blood as fertiliser.

Me

In case you were wondering what I look like. Photo by Keith Beccles (with my new LeicaDigilux 1) Which is the only digital camera you should ever consider buying because they look so cool.

Capper

With whom I've worked with at NME, Bizarre and Vice (which he edits)

Shelia Was Eine Punk Rocker

Saw this girl on the tube and asked to take her picture. She replied " Ja, wasever, ist cool"
