Tesco Dawg

On Native American Reservations there are wild, savage and feral dogs roaming free called Rez Dawgs. Over here the equivalent is the Supermarket Dawg which is left in the car as the owner does the weekly shop, guarding the MPV by barking, growling and drooling.

How To Stop An Exploding Man

The Ladsmag gods have summoned me back to Gotham. Elsewhere Heroes starts tonight on BBC2. I suggest you watch it as my old friend Ted Kessler stars as the L.A cop who can hear what people are thinking and my ex also makes an appearance as the blonde dual personality psychopath who hallucinates every time she looks in the mirror .

"You're gonna end up on the boat for this McNulty"

At the moment I feel that I'm on the picture editor/photographer/writers equivalent of the Harbour Patrol.

Far Right Car Boot Sale

Is it me or are car boots and charity shops nothing like as good as they used to be? Perhaps I should return to my old habit of shopping exclusivly at Selfridges

Shortys Gone Digital

My 22 month old niece has got so bored of driving to the lab, dropping film off, waiting for dev and contact and then dealing with the prima donna hand printers at Metro Art that she's gone and got herself a digital camera: She does all her own retouching now too.

Triple A

Spent the day sorting junk I've had stored at gramps' for ages. Don't remember going to that Fugazi gig. Also found tons of promotional CDs. Will I ever listen to Marion, 60 Foot Dolls or Raging Speedhorn ever again?

'Days'

What are days for?
Days are where we live.
They come, they wake us
Time and time over.
They are to be happy in:
Where can we live but days?
Ah, solving that question
Brings the priest and the doctor
In their long coats
Running over the fields.

My Own Private Glastonbury

Because of the recent death in family I did not make it to the Tor this year. Instead I walked around the vale listening to Explosions In The Sky and Mogwai, imagining I was trudging from backstage to the New Bands Tent as I navigated the Westwood. Upon reflection I am very glad I am not there as I would be sharing the same air as Phil 'Obese terminally unfunny Mod bully' Jupitus and Lauren 'used to be in a fat indie band from Newcastle and now chief patronising arts idiot on the BBC' Laverne. The buisness of Glastonbury this year (as seen through BBCi) is making me feel sick. Although I'm just watching The Killers and it's brilliant.

La Vache

OK. I've been slack. So, I will endevour to try and update everyday from now on. Here's a picture of a cow. I really must recomend 'Down By The River Where The Dead Men Go' by George P Pelacanos as the best novel I have ever read about drinking (and Private Investigation) ever.

Eine Jahre Alt

This internet effort is a year old today. It started with a picture of dogface on a beach (in Kent) and so it only seems appropriate that there's another picture of him on a beach today (near Bridlington) I was never really sure what the point of doing a blog was and I'm still not. ALOT has changed in the last year but I think I'll keep it alive. As Leonard Cohen once sang "I hope your keeping some kind of record..."

96 Year Old Blood

Gramps fell down and bust his head open this morning. After a quick trip to A+E he's fine now. Although there was loads of blood all over his kitchen.

Nailed To A Cross

Relaxed bank holiday. David came to visit and we had a legendary night of rock in the Barrel with Colonel JR Cigs, Walked dogface on the Wezzo and down at the We Love Telly Beach. And that's Libby learning how to use the remote so she can change channels from Hitler documentaries to Cbeebies whenever she comes over....

"The fields! the fields are full of blood!"

Just watched Watership Down. Amazing. A film which Mogwai once pointed out is the animated rabbit movie equivilent of the album 'Closer' by Joy Division.

Cadillac Ranch

There is a new car dealers in my parents village. They used to sell combine harvesters and Daihatsu Four tracks. Now they sell American SUV's like this Peroumobile Caddy and other stuff like Dodge Ram V8 pick up trucks.
